Grantown is an ideal location from which to explore the Cairngorms National Park where you are totally spoilt for choice for things to do and see.  You are only a matter of minutes away from Britain’s highest mountain range and some of the best ancient forests in the UK. There are also an abundance of rivers, lochs, moorlands, and villages to explore and enjoy.

With so many different landscapes, there is also plenty of wildlife to spot such as eagles, ospreys, capercaillie, pine martins, red squirrels, reindeer and if you’re really lucky, you may get a glimpse of the elusive wildcat. The Park is home to 25 per cent of Britain’s threatened species.

There are hundreds of miles of trails and paths plus nine visitor centres and other sites along the way.

At the end of a busy day, you can stroll from Mount Barker into Grantown High Street and visit the many traditional Scottish shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
